Terry had heard that Elizabeth Taylor was hoping to cast Bowie in her upcoming movie Blue Bird, so he arranged a shoot with the pair at director George Cukor’s home in Los Angeles, 1975.
Unfortunately Bowie showed up four hours late. “David showed up stoned out of his head," Terry shared later, but he was apologetic and endearing, so after a while Taylor softened and began to have fun with the shoot.
Needless to say, Bowie didn't get the part!
