The Hunter was the last movie that Steve McQueen ever starred in. In his later years, Steve became very selective about what roles he accepted. He was enjoying a new phase in life riding motorcycles and flying planes, but when he received the offer to play real-life bounty hunter Ralph Thorson, he grew very excited. His acting life had come full-circle - from his breakout role as bounty-hunter Josh Randall in Wanted: Dead or Alive to his last ever role as Ralph Thorson, twenty years later.
