The 1978 roadtrip to Montana was different to the others because this time the couple had a purpose - Steve was seriously considering buying property in Livingston. Something about Big Sky country fit his new lifestyle and that enthralled him. As they crossed the Montana state line, Barbara spotted a herd of buffalo and made Steve pull over. Whenever something was particularly scenic she couldn't resist stopping to snap a photo. In this shot, Steve stands candidly against the backdrop of a green field where a lone buffalo grazes.
