The Rolling Stones on a Wall, Derbyshire, 1968

By Michael Joseph
About the image
Photographed across two days at the historic Sarum Chase Estate in West London and Swarkestone Hall Pavillion in Derbyshire, the Beggar's Banquet series includes some of the most intricate compositions in all of Rock & Roll photography.

The photographs taken at Swarkestone were initially intended to be used for the front and back covers of the album sleeve, the Sarum Chase images for inside.

A shot very similar to this one, from this same session was used on the back cover of the "Hot Rocks" album sleeve.
