About the image
Mick Jagger striking a classic pose at the microphone, performing at San Francisco's Cow Palace in 1975. "To get this shot (and others), I brought a biker friend with me and we squirreled our way down front. There was no photo pit. When we got as close as we could, my huge friend squatted down, I got on his shoulders, he stood up, I took a roll of film, then thanked everybody who we blocked, and squirreled our way out. These are some of my most famous shots of the Rolling Stones because they were later used as a poster give-away for the San Jose Mercury News." - Pat Johnson
