About the image
Sebastian Kruger has captured the essence of legendary musician Louis "Satchmo" Armstrong's magnetic personality and musical talent in this giclee on canvas, depicting the jazz great playing the trumpet, his legendary eyes as wide as can be.

In 1969, Armstrong had a cameo role in the film version of "Hello, Dolly!" as the bandleader, Louis, who sang the title song with actress Barbra Streisand. His version of "Hello, Dolly" was inducted in the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2001.

Sebastian Krüger's subjects are generally artists he admires and his portraits, while caricatures, always contain a great deal of kindness while at the same time thoroughly subverting "the world of beautiful appearances." This contradiction is at the heart of Krüger's work, a characteristic that has made him extremely popular with art connoisseurs all over the world.

Each piece is signed and numbered by Sebastian Kruger.
